In most cases we are driven to share encouraging words to someone who is hurting is like adding salt to the injury. In most instances when you offer some free words of encouragement that someone may decide not to entertain a word of what you are saying.
No matter how it seems, everyone needs some words that can encourage her or him. I can liken sharing such words to planting a seed. It can take a while before you see the full results of your hard labour.
In the same way when you try to encourage someone, never stop simply because you are not getting the reaction you expect. Continue to share some Christian encouragement words if you are helping a Christian person and don t even think about giving up.
It is harder for a fresh wound to show signs of healing on the first day. You just need to understand that and be patient. Do not try and set a time table for the person to get over what ever it is he or she is grieving for depending on the occurrence or the nature of the grieving person.
I have a friend who lost a loved one and spent two years still mourning and crying everyday before going to bed. It turned out everything we kept saying to him over the years in terms of encouragement, helped him to heal eventually. We didn t know we were making that kind of an impact at the time.
So if ever you feel frustrated and exhausted of writing an encouragement letter or poem depending on what your loved one need keep in mind that it is not in vain. Just continue with tolerance and sympathy and it may be you are the reason why the grieving person is able to live through another day.
